What are Brake Rotors?

Brake rotors are your car’s giant metal dinner plates 🍽️

They spin around really fast, having the time of their lives like:

🌀 “WHEEEE I’M A FAN!”

Then—BAM—brake pads show up and say:

🛑 “ABSOLUTELY NOT.”

The rotors’ job is to:

• Spin with the wheel
   
• Get dramatically hugged by the brake pads
   
• Turn speed into heat like a very stressed metal pancake

They’re tough, but not invincible. If abused, they start to complain:

• Wobble wobble (warped rotors)
   
• Shake shake (steering wheel shimmy)
   
• Screeeeech!! (metal sadness)

What are Brake Pads?

Brake pads are basically your car’s shoe soles 

Every time your car runs really fast and suddenly decides,

“Whoa there, I should not hit that mailbox,”

The brake pads jump in and go:

🛑 “GRIP!” 🛑

They squish themselves against a spinning metal disc (the rotor) and create friction— which is just a fancy word for “polite screaming brake material.”

Over time, brake pads get tired because:

• They’re constantly hugging hot spinning metal
   
• They sacrifice themselves so you don’t sacrifice your bumper
   

When they’re worn out, they start yelling:

• “EEEEEEK!” (squealing)
   
• “GRRRRRR!” (grinding—this is bad, very bad) 

So brake pads are:

• Tiny heroes
   
• Dramatic noise-makers
   
• Disposable friction sandwiches
   

Without them, your car would just keep rolling like:

🚗💨 “I regret nothing.”

What are Brake Calipers? 

Brake calipers are your car’s very serious hand muscles 💪

They sit there quietly, minding their business, thinking:

😐 “I live to squeeze.”

When you press the brake pedal, the calipers wake up and go:

🚨 “IT’S SQUEEZIN’ TIME.” 🚨

They grab the brake pads and clamp them onto the spinning rotor like a crab that just found treasure 🦀💥

Their personality:

• Strong
   
• Clampy
   
• Zero chill
   

If calipers misbehave, they get weird:

• Stick and won’t let go (draggy brakes )
   
• Squeeze unevenly (pulling to one side)
   
• Heat things up like they’re angry at physics
   

So brake calipers are:

• Hydraulic crab claws
   
• The muscle behind the magic
   
• The reason your car doesn’t just politely ask the wheels to stop 

Without calipers, your brakes would be like:
